The Munster 4 mile Road Championship was held in Dundrum, Co. Tipperary.
It proved to be a very successful day for Ennis Track with the men’s senior team winning gold and the ladies over 50 team winning gold. The senior men’s team consisted of Mark Hanrahan, (mens senior and overall winner), Rory Chesser, Dylan Casey, and Jamie Kelly.
The Novice men’s team, made up of Jamie Kelly, Paudie Nugent, Billy McKenna and Brian Sheedy, came 3rd.
The Senior ladies team (Anne Marie Connellan, Grainne Kelly, Geraldine Vahey, and Becky Coughlan) also came 3rd. The Novice ladies (Grainne Kelly, Geraldine Vahey, Becky Coughlan, Mary Cahill, Liz Quinn and Maria Carey) took bronze medals. The O/50 ladies team, made up of Anne Marie Connellan, Geraldine Vahey, Aishling Power and Ita Hanrahan won gold. The over 50 men’s team (Pat Morrissey, Mike Clune, Rob Bryan, and Jimmy Doyle) won bronze.
Individual medals went to Mark Hanrahan, 1st Senior, Rory Chesser, 1st o/35, Anne Marie Connellan 2nd o/50, Geraldine 3rd o/50, Aishling Power 3rd o/55, Pat Morrissey 2nd o/60, Mike Clune 3rd o/60, Sean Whelan 3rd o/70. Gerry McCullough scored on the county o/65 team which came 1st. Well done to all and thanks to Dundrum AC for a very well-organised event. The tea and sandwiches went down a treat.
